General Care Guidelines
- Exhaust fans and open windows are best to remove moisture from the washroom.
- Never use sinks, bathtubs, and showers are held for paint cans, trash, or other tools.
- Use painting walls and ceilings to cover plumbing fixtures.
- Avoid stepping into a bathtub or shower with shoes on as they carry dirt particles and elements that can scratch the surface.
- Avoid disposing of photographic developing solutions in sinks, tubs, or toilets as they are extremely difficult to remove.
For Mirrors, Showers and Bath Tubs
- Ammonia free cleanser should be used to clean mirrors as the cleanser containing an excessive amount of ammonia can cause de-silvering along the edges of the mirrors.
- Dry the shower area before every use.
- Use a dishwashing detergent for the cleaning shower area unless hard water is deposited. If hard water minerals are deposited using a commercial glass cleaner containing ammonia ( 1 tbsp) diluted with water.
- Avoid using steel wool or scouring pads on the metal portion of showers as they remove the protective finish applied the manufacturer and upon removal they can cause unsightly scratches.
- Water should not be escaping from the shower. If it is escaping ensure the door is locked.
- Bathtubs need to be cleaned with a foaming bath and tile cleaners.
- Avoid using any abrasive to clean bathtub.
- Do not use any support as tub spout while getting out of the tub as it will permanently damage it.
Fiberglass Bathtubs and Showers
- Fiberglass cleansers are available in every supermarket and are the ideal choice for cleaning fiberglass.
- Wax your fiberglass units with high-quality automobile wax for long term protection upon move-in and after each major cleaning.
- Powdered cleansers and any abrasive is not recommended to be used for bathtubs and showers.
